Barry Cullen

R. Barry Cullen has over 35 years’ worth of commercial real estate experience in the Middle Tennessee market.  Mr. Cullen began his career in commercial real estate in 1970 with Marine Midland Bank in Buffalo, New York.  Throughout his career, Mr. Cullen has been involved with the acquisition, development, financing and sale of over $1 billion worth of commercial real estate properties.

Prior to joining Kwasek Commercial, Mr. Cullen served in the same capacity with Laureate Capital.  Mr. Cullen joined Laureate as a result of Laureate Capital’s acquisition of R. B. Cullen and Associates.  Mr. Cullen established and built R.B Cullen & Associates into a prominent mortgage banking firm representing multiple capital sources (Insurance, CMBS & Agency) in the Middle Tennessee market.

Mr. Cullen has served as a mortgage banker for more than 30 years.  In addition, he has served as a consultant to several financial institutions (including the RTC) assisting them in portfolio monitoring, asset evaluation, and disposition of troubled assets

Transactions include general purpose office, free standing industrial, strip retail, power center retail, multifamily residential, Medical office buildings, Healthcare/Assisted living centers, Hotel developments, single family detached subdivisions, high rise condominiums, free standing Bank and other investment grade leases. In addition, since his arrival in Middle Tennessee in 1976 he has personally developed, owned and managed a wide variety of commercial developments which include:


Alexander Limited: Three office buildings (10,000 s.f.) on the Public Square, Franklin, TN.  (Now the home of Fifth Third Bank.)

KRM Investments: 20,000 s.f. multi-purpose industrial space , Franklin, TN.

Jamestown Investors: 20,000 s.f.  Class A office Building in Maryland Farms, Brentwood, TN.

Maryland Manor: Mixed use development, 32,000 s.f. Class A office with a restored restaurant “Mere’ Bulles”.

Graystone Office Building: 16,000 s.f.  Bank (Bank of Nashville) office building

Powell Associates: 10,000 s.f. Medical office building

Haynes Publishing Center: 45,000 s.f. special purpose industrial building, LaVergne, TN.
